Garmin steet card for the GCF

That all our visitors can use the fitting card material for the GCF2011, Garmin has offered us the topo card for the greater area of Cologne.

The north border is Haan and the south border is Siegburg. In the east Overath and in the west shortly after Kerpen.

Those going on the bustour should have the countries on their topo.

it is a 48 MB big gmapsupp.img data. the best is you load them on an extra micro sd chip card so you don`t have to save all the other data.

We thank Garmn for this possibility and the other license holder to make this possible.

We are in the last phases of preparation for the “Ten Icons a Day” walk,
which is scheduled for Saturday, August 27. No one will say we haven’t
done enough to make this an unforgettable weekend for you, getting you
ready for the GeoCoinFest with a Meet&Greet Event in the evening at the
Cologne E-Werk.

This nice city walk will get you 10 different icons within 3 hours and is
sure to pump up your stats. (Look GCStatistic, GSAK or
mygeocachingprofile.com)

The walk will start downtown next to the cathedral and will conclude at
the Meet&Greet Event (GC2NTNX). Be happy and enjoy your time with our 2
local "Geo-Guides". A few days before this, we will give out a usable
GPX-File for all who will be joining us, so everyone will have the same
information on their GPS device.

Halfway through the walk, we will be having a traditional
"Koelsch-Kaltschale" (traditional beer break) for some extra energy and
motivation.

"Nid das eeens fallore jeeet, sacht ma in Koelle" This is a Cologne slang
phrase and means "Not that someone gets lost"

You will all enjoy this walk and it is an opportunity for those who don`t
want to be on the nine-hour bus tour.

The bidding process for Geocoinfest Europe 2012 is now open for those who
have an interest in bringing the largest geocoin event in the world to
your country. If you think your area is a good one then please start to
talk to your geocaching friends about forming a team to host the event.
Some items to consider:
Location: A city or town with good transit and an airport
Team: A team with good event hosting experience and some experience with
geocoins
Even if you are not interested in hosting, if you think a specific city is
a good spot please post and say why?!?
Bid proposals are due: July 1st, 2011
